International Students
Welcome to Digital Media Arts College and the office of International Student Affairs and Services (ISAS). ISAS is committed to welcoming international students and facilitating their transition to life at Digital Media Arts College. ISAS acts as a liaison with the U.S. Congress and federal agencies such as the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) as well as foreign governmental agencies relating to international student matters.This section is designed to familiarize our international students with the process for applying to DMAC, what to do before you leave home and what to do after your arrival here. We trust that this will be the start of a fun, exciting and rewarding journey for you. Please call our office with any questions you have after you review the sections below:
I. International Student Application Procedure:
a. Submit an application to the Admissions Department
b. Download, print, and complete DMAC International Student Affairs & Services Form . If the bank account represented on the Affidavit of Support is someone other than the student, an Official Bank Letter pledging proceeds from the account to pay for the student’s education and cost of living while in the United States will be required.
c. Submit an original Official Transcript. An Official Transcript consists of a transcript that is submitted to us in English. If not, it must be translated by an official translation company. It must contain a stamp or seal from the issuing educational institution. In addition, it must be mailed to us unopened directly from the institution.
d. Submit Artwork Portfolio (for MFA applicants only). The artwork must be submitted in CD or DVD format and mailed to the International Department.
e. Submit two Letters of Recommendation.
f. Submit a Statement of Purpose. Your statement of purpose should be at least a one page explaining your desire to attend Digital Media Arts College.
g. Download, complete, and submit the Personal References Form and Emergency Contact Information Form.
h. Please complete and sign or deny the Student Info Release Form.
i. Submit a photocopy of the front page of your current passport.
II. Furnish evidence of proficiency in English by submitting scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). DMAC School Code is: 8427
The minimum required TOEFL Score for students in different categories are as follows Level Total Min. Score:
- Writing: 25
- Speaking: 20
- Reading: 19
- Listening: 16
- Total: 80
Digital Media Arts College TOEFL code number is 8427. Use this number when you sit for the examination and on the Score Report Request Forms (for tests previously taken).
As an alternative, Digital Media Arts College has approved both the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) as a demonstration of English language proficiency with the following minimum score requirements:
MELAB- Undergraduate 69
- Graduate 77
- All levels score: 6 (competent user)
All freshmen, undergraduate transfer and second bachelor's degree seeking students who completed all or part of their education abroad are required to have their foreign credentials evaluated by an independent evaluation service; for example, Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. or any NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) Members (at www.naces.org/members.htm).
Once the International Student Application Procedure’s are complete, you will then be reviewed for acceptance. Upon your acceptance, your first year's tuition and fees are due. Once the tuition and fees have been collected, the International Department will issue via an express courier service your I-20 document. It is then the student’s responsibility to schedule an appointment with their local U.S. Embassy or Consulate for their F-1 student VISA interview. If the student holds any other elgible VISA, the burden is on the student to comply with US government regulations.
